on by the devil (in the guise of a snake). The all-seeing God watches
as she grabs for the fruit.

Judeo-Christian origin myth, Adam and Eve are the first man and woman.
They have a utopian existence in the Garden of Eden until Eve is tempted
to eat the Forbidden Fruit by the Devil, disguised as a Serpent. The
Forbidden Fruit gave Adam and Eve the knowledge of good and evil. The
ethnobotanist and philosopher, Terence McKenna, believed that the
evolution of humans was hastened by the consumption of psychedelic
mushrooms.

piece is based on the Christian myth of Jesus.
"Miracle of the Milk and Fish", Oil on canvas, 18" X 24", 1998This painting was inspired by the Christian myth of Jesus
feeding a multitude of his followers with only five loaves of bread and
two fish. There were still 12 baskets of food at the end of the meal.
In my life, women have been the nurturing providers. They have fed me
and kept me healthy. They are true miracle workers.

reflection and cannot leave the edge of the pool where his image is
reflected. He eventually dies and the narcissus flower blooms at the
pool's edge.
"Icarus (The Dark Side of Love)", Oil on canvas, 18" X 24", 2003In the ancient Greek myth, Icarus and his father, Daedalus,
are imprisoned by the king of Crete. Daedalus builds wings of wax and
feathers so that they can escape. He warns Icarus not to fly to close
to the sun. Icarus falls in love with flying and soars too high. His wings
melt and he falls to his death. Daedalus, I can only assume, was completely
consumed by the loss of his only son.
